The Duel (Chang, 1971)

Kung Fu massacres are the only defense against the breakdown of community and the influx of political corruption, and in Chang Cheh’s gloriously bloody film The Duel this dichotomy produces vivid splashes of blood red and dusty yellow. I consider these dynamic textures in my review for Slant Magazine.
